Endoscopic Brow Lift Surgery

Brow lift is an aesthetic surgical procedure to correct the loss of soft tissue elasticity in the upper third of the face. Excess skin sagging around the forehead, which causes sagging eyebrows (ptosis) and wrinkling on the forehead, is eliminated by repositioning the underlying muscle and tissue. It creates a more refreshed, youthful appearance in the upper third of the face. It can also be combined with facelift or rhinoplasty.

The Keller Funnel technique is a method that completely prevents the implant from coming into contact with the skin by the surgeon during silicone implant placement in breast augmentation surgeries. No matter how sterile your surgeon and the operating room are, there is a possibility that some bacteria may be present in the implant shell, especially during the placement of breast implants. This can increase the risk of infection and the possibility of capsular contracture (hard tissue formation around the implant). By reducing this risk, Keller Funnel increases both patient safety and surgical success.

Who is it suitable for?

Aesthetically, the face is divided into three equal parts, with the forehead (from the top of the eyebrow to the frontal hairline) occupying the upper third. In men, this area is on average 7 cm, and in women it is on average 5 cm. The male eyebrow is less curved than the female eyebrow. The upper part of the eyebrow is about 2.5 cm from the central pupil. These parameters may change with aging. Less distance indicates eyebrow drooping (ptosis).
Loss of elasticity of the forehead skin due to genetics, sun damage and gravity causes the eyebrows to droop, resulting in upper eyelid drooping and dissatisfaction with appearance.
Aging causes depletion of subcutaneous fat. This leads to forehead wrinkling, the direction of which depends on the underlying muscle.
Why is endoscopic brow lift surgery performed?
Patients may be concerned that they have a tired, confused, anxious or irritable appearance and look older than their actual age. Patients may feel an uncomfortable heaviness of tissue in their eyes. A brow lift improves brow symmetry. It changes the shape of the brow. It reduces the function of the muscles that cause brow wrinkling.

How is it done?

Routine blood tests are performed before the procedure. Patients are advised to shampoo their hair with antibacterial soap/shampoo the night or morning before surgery.
Endoscopic brow lift is performed under general anesthesia or with intravenous (IV) sedation and local anesthesia. Multiple small incisions are made just behind the hairline through which an endoscope and instruments are inserted. The brow tissue is lifted up.
Postoperative pain can be controlled with painkillers. Antibiotics may be necessary. Patients are advised to rest with their head elevated for two weeks. Patients are usually discharged the same day or 24 hours after surgery. The dressing can be removed after 48 hours. Patients can shower and wash their hair with mild shampoos recommended by the surgeon after 48 hours. The surgeon may prescribe medicated ointments to apply to the wounds. Patients should not use any hair products for at least seven days. Wound healing takes about two weeks. No obvious scars are formed.
It may take 4 to 6 months for the final results of the operation to appear. Patients can return to work after 5-7 days and resume all their usual activities including sports and exercise after 1 month.
