Healthy follicles, usually taken from the back of the head, are placed one by one into the areas that need coverage. PRE-VISIT & HAIR ANALYSIS
For a healthy hair transplant operation, a detailed analysis and examination is necessary. It is important for the patient to find answers to all the questions in his/her mind and to get satisfactory answers in every aspect. Therefore, this is the most important stage of hair transplantation. While making appointments for our patients in our clinic, we allocate enough time for our patients to ask all their questions and get answers.
During the examination, we examine our patient's hair health, hair fiber thickness and hair fiber structure with computer-aided hair analysis. We measure the hair loss rate and mathematically calculate and tell our patient how many grafts he/she needs for a hair transplant operation.
With computer-aided hair analysis, we calculate the hair density in the donor area of our patient and determine how many grafts can be taken without disturbing the existing visual appearance. After all this information is given and our patient's wishes are received, if the operation is mutually decided, we make an operation appointment on a suitable date.
STUDY OF PATIENT TESTS
On the date of the operation, we study all the necessary tests for our patient at Acıbadem Fulya Hospital. If there is no negative result from the tests, we start the hair transplantation process.
LOCAL ANESTHESIA & GRAFT TAKING
The first step of the hair transplant operation is local anesthesia of the donor area. After this procedure, our patient does not feel any pain or ache.
After local anesthesia, the graft harvesting process begins. Thanks to 24-carat gold-plated tips, grafts are taken one by one without causing allergies. The grafts are examined under a microscope and separated into healthy and broken grafts. Thus, only healthy grafts are used in the hair transplantation process. Healthy grafts are counted and sorted. Thus, the grafts are allocated according to the planning made in the transplantation area.
DETERMINING THE FRONT HAIRLINE
The front hairline is drawn with a medical pen to create a natural front hairline, taking into account the wishes of our patient. When determining the front hairline, there are a few important details to be considered. All such details are explained to our patient and we decide on the optimum design that will satisfy our patient together with our patient.
CHANNEL OPENING
While channels are opened with slit technique in hair transplantation method, there is no channel opening in DHI hair transplantation. The grafts are directly transplanted with a special pen (choi pen). In percutaneous hair transplantation, channel opening is done with a special needle. This is one of the most important steps that distinguish hair transplantation techniques from each other.
The grafts to be transplanted into the opened channels are placed one by one. While this stage is applied in percutaneous hair transplantation, the application of this stage varies in DHI hair transplantation as the grafts are placed directly on the scalp thanks to the choi pen.
DRESSING, HAIR BAND AND HAT APPLICATION
After the hair transplantation procedure is completed, the donor area is first dressed, cleaned using antibacterial cloths and a hair band is applied to prevent edema from descending to the face. If our patient is going to be outdoors, he/she is requested to wear the special hat given to him/her. This is important to protect our patient from dust in the air, raindrops and other factors.
MAKING THE FIRST HAIR WASH
The day after the hair transplant procedure, we ask our patient to rest. On the second day, we call our patient back to the hospital for the first hair wash. We explain in detail how to do the hair washing and what to pay attention to, and ask our patient to come to the controls periodically.
PERIODIC CHECKS
After the hair transplant operation, we invite our patients to our clinic on the 15-30-90-180 and 365th days and closely follow the healing process. We ask our patients coming from abroad to send their photos via WhatsApp or e-mail.
AFTER HAIR TRANSPLANTATION AND RECOVERY
A few days after hair transplantation, the healing process begins. If you are coming from abroad, you can board the plane after 3 days. You can easily take a shower after a week / 10 days. You can swim in the pool, solarium or sea after two months. Within 1 month, the transplanted hair will fall out once. Your permanent hair starts to grow from the second month. In an average of 8 to 10 months, the results of the hair transplantation process will be much more noticeable.
Hair transplantation is suitable for people who have a sufficient donor area and are experiencing permanent hair loss.
In particular, people with male pattern hair loss are among the suitable candidates for hair transplantation. Those with thinning hair, bald areas, or a clearly receding hairline may also consider this procedure. For women, hair transplantation may also be suitable in cases of localized thinning. People with hair loss caused by burns, scars, or trauma can also be evaluated. The most important factor for hair transplantation is having enough hair follicles available, as much as the area that needs to be transplanted. The existing hair structure, the level of hair loss, and expectations are also important in determining suitability.
Before the procedure, the level of hair loss and the adequacy of the donor area should be evaluated. Medications being used, regular habits, and general health condition should be reviewed in advance. It is important to follow the preparation steps given regarding smoking and alcohol consumption before hair transplantation. Keeping the scalp clean and following the recommended care rules are also important. Choosing comfortable clothing on the day of the procedure can make the preparation process easier. Keeping expectations realistic helps the person approach the hair transplantation process more consciously.
