The face can look much younger with temple filling…
Why is temple filling done?
Many of the aging changes can be understood by observing changes in facial volume. Some faces gain weight, albeit unevenly from top to bottom. Other faces become thinner as they age.
Second, the architecture of age also includes hollow cheeks, orbits and temples. The temples are located on either side of the face and eyes. The tip of the eyebrows ends in front of the temples and the upper edge centers your forehead. During the aging process, we all lose volume from our temples. As the temples go down, the effect is a noticeable narrowing of the upper part of the face, with a visible shortening of the eyes where they fall into the temple area, and a lowering of the eyebrow. Carving of the temples is a natural part of the aging process. Soft tissue and bone resorbs, muscle and fascia (your connective tissues) change. This leads to less structural support in the temple area, resulting in folds, wrinkles and loss of volume. Many non-surgical procedures can be used for hollow temples, such as fat injection or hyaluronic acid fillers.
In temple filling treatment, it is aimed to cause the least amount of bruising possible. Fine-tipped needles are used for this. Since the filler injections spread superficially, there is a low risk of contact with veins or arterial walls. Most dermal fillers are administered with a local anesthetic that will significantly reduce the risk of pain during your temple filler procedure. This local anesthetic numbs the temple area, so there is minimal discomfort during the filler injection.
After temple filling, the effects are immediately evident. If there is any swelling, this will resolve within 2-3 days after temple filling.
The lifespan of a temple filler treatment varies depending on age, the amount of dermal filler used, the placement of the dermal filler and the type of dermal filler product used. For the majority of patients, results can last up to 12 months.
After filler injection into the temples, we recommend using an eye serum to moisturize and sun protection.
