Tamponless Rhinoplasty

In aesthetic nose operations, tampons, which make the nose of the patients look excessively large and cause more swelling and bruising, are no longer used by many surgeons today.

There are various types of tampons used in rhinoplasty operations. In the past, compression of the bandage in the nose prevented the patient from breathing through the nose after the operation and caused bleeding and pain. Such situations could cause patients to avoid aesthetic nose operations.

In the tamponless rhinoplasty method, a special tool called an intranasal stapler is used. No nasal tampon is used. In this way, patients can breathe more easily because their nose is not blocked. There is also no need for additional cleaning inside the nose. With this tool, melting stitches are placed inside the nose. There is no need to remove stitches after the operation and the stitches dissolve spontaneously in about 10 days.
