Composite Rhinoplasty

Composite rhinoplasty is a method that utilizes fat or filler injections in rhinoplasty surgeries to eliminate tissue deficiencies and skin thinness in the nose. In addition to rhinoplasty, this technique is also used as a supportive method in other aesthetic operations such as breast aesthetics. In addition to improving the shape of the nose, the composite aesthetic method provides a more natural and balanced appearance by compensating for tissue loss under the skin.

When to Use Fat or Filler Injection in Rhinoplasty?

In rhinoplasty surgeries, especially in deformities seen after primary rhinoplasty surgery, for example, fat injection technique can be used to thicken the dorsal septum. In addition, filler injection may be preferred for congenital or traumatic tissue deficiencies or skin thinness problems.

One of the most important factors in the successful outcome of rhinoplasty surgery is the quality of the nasal skin. The fat injection technique is used to improve the quality of the skin during rhinoplasty, which reduces the risk of unwanted results after plastic surgery.

What is the Use of Fat Injection Support in Rhinoplasty?

Autologous fat injection is a supportive method increasingly used in rhinoplasty surgery. This technique, applied with permanent or semi-permanent injection methods, can be combined with primary or secondary rhinoplasty surgeries. Fat injection helps to improve skin quality in revision rhinoplasty. Adipose tissue is considered as a reliable filler material with its effect on volumization and skin health. This technique helps to correct bumps, arches and asymmetrical aesthetic problems in the nose. It is also possible to support the tip of the nose by injecting it at the base of the nose.

How is Fat Injection Applied in Composite Rhinoplasty?

The fat injection technique is similar to fat injections in other parts of the body. In this technique, fat fragments are injected into the nasal area using multi-hole cannulas or fine needles (1.2-1.4 mm). Lipofilling method is applied for sequel corrections in rhinoplasty. Fat cell injection is used for irregularities in the dorsum of the nose, lateral osteomies or nasal curvatures. It is performed under local anesthesia through micro cannulas. Micro cannulas shorten the recovery time by preventing trauma such as post-operative ecchymosis and swelling. In composite rhinoplasty surgeries, techniques such as cartilage tissue graft transplantation can be used together with the fat injection technique according to the needs of the nose.

How is Autologous Fat Injection Material Obtained?

In autologous fat injection, the filling material is obtained from excess fat cells in the abdomen or thigh area of the person by liposuction method. The fat obtained by injection method is purified and made ready by centrifugation technique. After the surgical corrections in rhinoplasty are made, the fat taken from the person’s own body is injected into the areas where the nose needs. This method helps to correct aesthetic problems in the nose safely as it does not carry the risk of allergy.
