Nasal Tip Aesthetics (Tipplasty: Minor Rhinoplasty) Tipplasty

It is a procedure performed to correct the deformity of the tip of the nose (asymmetry, width, drooping, mandala-tightened nasal tip deformity) where the anatomical structure of the nasal bone is normal.

Pre-Operation Interview

In the interview, first of all, your complaints about your current nose and your expectations after surgery are evaluated.
Your nose is photographed from 8 different angles and its possible postoperative appearance is shown to you on the computer.
Pre and postoperative photographs of the operated noses are shown.

Operation Technique

Closed rhinoplasty technique is used. In this technique, since the procedure is performed from inside the nose, there is no scar on the outside. Since the nasal bone structure is normal, no intervention is made to the bone. The cartilage and soft tissue that make up the nasal tip structure are reshaped. This stage is the point where art and science meet. Problems such as low nasal tip, excessive height, asymmetry, curvature of the nose are corrected and the nostrils are aesthetically shaped.

After the nose is given a new aesthetic shape, special tapes are glued to the outer part of the nose. No tampons and splints are used in the operation.

Operation Duration

Depending on the size and type of the problem in the nose, the operation time usually varies between 30 and 60 minutes.
However, in some cases, this period may be shorter or longer depending on the surgeon’s preference and the complexity of the procedures.

Recovery Process

Postoperative Discharge
- After the operation, patients are discharged on the same day. This is due to the minimally invasive features of rhinoplasty surgery.
Early Days
- 1-2 days after the operation, you can take a warm shower and continue your daily activities without soaking the special tapes on the nose.
- However, pressure on the nasal area should be avoided.
Removal of Tapes
- The bands on the nose are removed in the first 5-7 days.
Nose Tip Massage
- Depending on your nasal structure, techniques for massaging the tip of the nose will be demonstrated to the patient if necessary. These massages can help the shape of the tip of the nose to settle more quickly and properly.
Advanced Recovery Process
- After the third week, you will begin to more clearly notice the new shape that the operation has given your nose and you will have left behind the most challenging initial period of your healing process.
Final Shape
- It may take about 6 months for the tip of the nose to take its final shape. During this process, the swelling is expected to continue to decrease and your nose will take its final shape.

Anesthesia Type

Local Anesthesia: It is usually the preferred type of anesthesia and the operation is considered adequate for most patients.

General Anesthesia: On the recommendation of your surgeon, general anesthesia may also be used for more complex procedures or for patient comfort.
