Genital Aesthetics
Aesthetic and functional correction of vagina, inguinal region and vaginal lips irregularities in women is within the application areas of plastic surgery. It includes procedures such as reduction of vaginal inner lips, restoration and reduction of outer lips, fat injection, vaginal reduction or repair of hymen (virginal membrane).
Vaginal reduction operations: the uncontrolled episiotomy incisions of women giving birth, the high number of births, growing old and structural characteristics all cause the vaginal walls to enlarge. This kind of irregularities may give rise to aesthetic and sexual problems.
Shape, color and size of vaginal inner walls changes by nationality and age, inner lips are not symmetric generally because one of them is bigger or longer than the other. They can be either structural or developed after. Because the excess parts of inner lips will cause perspiration and accordingly, create bad smell. The excess parts of inner lips which look unaesthetic or cause painful sex can be removed.
Classification of inner lip width. (Talita Franco classification)
Type I: less than 2 cm
Type II: 2 cm to 4 cm
Type III: 4 cm to 6 cm
Type IV: bigger than 6 cm
Pre-Operative Interview
In the interview, your present complaints and expectations after the operation are primarily evaluated. You are informed about the details of the operation.
When you decide for the operation, my assistant will plan the suitable day for the operation.
Age for Operation
It is applicable to every woman.
Inner and outer lips operations do not damage the hymen. It does not pose an obstacle for pregnancy, sexual relationship and orgasm.
Preparation for Operation
You should stop taking aspirin and its derivatives one week before the operation. (do not stop taking the medication you permanently use without consulting your doctor).
It is recommended not to smoke for a while before and after the operation.
Do not put on any makeup, do not use hair gel, wear comfortable clothes and leave your jewels at home before coming to the hospital for operation.
Be present at the hospital about one hour before the operation.
When you come to the room reserved for you, you may be given an oral drug if you want, it will relax you.
Operative Technique
For large inner lips; S incision is used in order to prevent linear contracture and inner lips are reduced.
For large outer lips; S incision and/or fusiform tissue is extracted
For large pubis; Pubis lifting or tissue extraction is performed.
For small inner lips or outer lips; these deformities are seen less frequently. Fat injection is applied. Additional fat injection can be performed 6 months later. When fat injection is applied, most of the patients stated that sexual relationship is both very easy and pleasurable.
Vaginal reduction; A piece is removed from the back wall of vagina. Because dissolvable stitches are used, they are not needed to be removed.
Type of Anesthesia
Aesthetic vaginal operation is generally applied under local anesthesia and sedation.
Vaginal reduction is performed under general anesthesia or local anesthesia.
Duration of Operation
It takes about 30 minutes-1 hour depending on the procedure.
Recovery Period
Patient is discharged on the same day and should pay attention to regular dressing and regional hygiene. You can get back to your usual routine after operation. Because dissolvable stitches are used, they are not needed to be removed. You should use antibiotics for one week. You don’t have serious pain. Sexual relationship and having a bath in the tub are not recommended during the first month. You can have a warm shower on the 2nd day after operation. You’ll gain an aesthetic appearance and also sexual relationship will be very satisfying for you and your partner.
